Pookie Powers were instantly activated on April 25, 2000 when we met for the very first time at the Xando (now unfortunately Cosi) at the Courthouse Metro in Arlington, VA. Since then, our power has spread far and wide with its epicenter now positioned in Broomfield, CO. And the Pookie Nation has grown to include one more.

The start of this blog marks the five year anniversary of the official Pookie union. With many years ahead, the power knows no bounds!

Happy Anniversary!

I, Pookie One, present this blog to Pookie Two on the occasion of our five year wedding anniversary. When we were first married five years ago, I asked you to create a website to document our wedding, our marriage, our life, etc. Since you were busy with other projects, the idea got shelved. It's now time to charge the paddles and bring it back to life!

Through these five years, there's been a lot of give and take as in any relationship. Amazing breakthroughs and also breakdowns caused by unmet expectations as in any relationship. But this is not just ANY relationship! This relationship has a secret ingredient. An ingredient so secret that we've hoarded it to ourselves all these years. Yes, you guessed it, it's POOKIE POWER!

Now that we're starting a new life and we've launched our extraordinary partnership, it's time to share POOKIE POWER with the world. What will that mean? Let's find out :)

Happy Anniversary you two happy Pookies! Dana, I love the work you've done on this site. It has style, baby, just like you. I especially liked seeing the photo of you working in Micronesia. You have made such a difference in people's lives. I wish I could take one of your courses, too. You should take your expertise and just start your own darn Pookie company... I was, however, alarmed see "email" listed as a time-waster on your chart pad. DANG! Who knew!! ;) I personally only check email from home... er, eh-hem, twitch twitch. Love you! I can't believe it's 5 years... it seems like just yesterday we were all dancing together to celebrate your special day. Mazel Tov!!! Love, Michelle

Dana,

I wish to only be so fortunate to have pooky power in my own life with an amazing man like yours someday. Thank you for sharing. It left me inspired & smiling. Now if I can only figure out how in the world I am going to move out to Denver to find my Pook! For now, my new puppy, Oscar will have to stand in as Pooky 1.5 until Pook 2 comes along ;) Love you, Heidi
